Intimate Bleaching
(aka Anal Bleaching)
What is intimate bleaching?
Intimate Bleaching (aka anal bleaching or intimate skin lightening) is a treatment designed to correct hyperpigmentation which can be caused by a variety of factors. The most common are sun damage, hormonal changes, friction, injury, scars, and aging.
What is hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation is a common (usually harmless) condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the surrounding skin. This darkening happens when there is an overproduction of melanin, the pigment that gives human skin, hair, and eyes their color.
How does skin lightening work?
We use a specially designed system called Bryght. It’s all-natural, cruelty-free, 100% vegan, and works by inhibiting an enzyme in our skin called tyrosinase which is responsible for extra melanin production. Because the Bryght formula targets only excess melanin, your skin achieves a more balanced tone without hypopigmentation (loss of color).
The treatment improves overall skin appearance by returning skin to its natural tone without the risk of ‘removing’ pigment, or causing the skin to over-lighten beyond its natural tone. Those with darker or more severe hyperpigmentation will generally see more dramatic results.
What happens in my appointment?
Treatment involves a series of visits during which we use a variety of products in the system to cleanse, exfoliate, lighten, and cool your skin. The addition of targeted LED light therapy enhances the results. You will schedule your appointments about 1 week apart and use a take-home product (Bryght Treat Gel, sold separately) twice per day between appointments
How soon will I see results?
You may see results after your first professional treatment - usually 1-3 shades lighter, but everyone is different. It is a natural product so you may need to allocate for time and commitment. We recommend 3-5 treatments and urge you to use the Bryght Treat Gel to maintain results between visits.
Aftercare
Aftercare for intimate skin lightening is not complicated. There are a few simple guidelines.
If you were sugared before the treatment, be sure to follow the aftercare guidelines for sugaring.
Avoid sweating or getting the treated area wet for a minimum of 2 hours after the professional treatment, or after applying your homecare.
Avoid sun. If the treated area will be exposed to the sun, always wear a minimum of SPF 30+ to prevent hyperpigmentation from returning or darkening further.
Ongoing continued use of the homecare will suppress and prevent future dark spots and other skin discolorations.
For best results, use Bryght Treat Gel twice daily (after your shower) on the area of concern: once in the morning, and once in the evening before bed to allow for overnight product penetration.
